Help in war: concrete steps we can take

Military aid is that which is given to help a country and its people in their defence efforts. Many countries around the world receive military aid to support the fight against insurgents, various terrorist groups and others. This aid consists of the provision of money for the purchase of weapons or military equipment.

During hostilities, due to insecurity on the roads, supply lines for various products, such as food, medicines and other necessities, are disrupted. This leads to buying up and looting the stock of these items in the store network, and hence their scarcity. The reason is that big cities are very large consumers of food but not producers and it is only a matter of time before famine sets in once food stocks run out.

The same applies to medicines, especially those that are life-sustaining and that people with diabetes, cancer patients, heart patients and others need. People with kidney failure who need dialysis also go without life-sustaining drugs if there are no hospitals or electricity in hospitals.

The government and the services are doing their best to minimize the number of casualties and are making sure that food, water and medicines are supplied. The care of survival in war is to some extent also in the hands of the people themselves, who, in addition to the state, would do well to rely on themselves.

This type of assistance, however, is at the state level and is determined by the governments of the world, which decide how and with what to help. We, as ordinary citizens, can also provide assistance in times of war, by providing essential goods or helping those fleeing war to settle in a new, safe place. The stress these people are under is enormous and they need all the help they can get. Literally in an instant, their lives change and they have to leave their homes to survive. Life is not the same for them and no one can guarantee that one day they will return to their father's house and everything will be the same again. That is why it is important to take care of them and provide them with everything they need to feel as calm and safe as possible in such a situation.

Providing essential goods and products

The first and most important thing is to keep enough supplies of food, water and necessary medicines in your home for at least three months. Food should be well packaged in jars, tins or vacuum-packed and should be within its expiry date. Items that can be stored for a long time are flour, rice, beans, lentils, sugar, pasta, canned meats, vegetables and fruits, juices, spices, oil, etc. In addition to food, it is a good idea to have a stock of certain quantities of clean drinking water, medicines, hygiene materials, first aid kits and other necessities, the quantity of which should be appropriate to the number of members in the family.

The second important condition is to have one or more safe havens where you can stay for long in case of war. Make a family plan of what you will do in case of an emergency. Where will you go? How will you get together if you get separated? Learn how to treat likely illnesses and give first aid to people who are injured or have injuries.

Providing humanitarian assistance in war

Providing humanitarian aid, to countries where there is a military conflict is extremely important. It consists of sending food, medicine and other necessary supplies, as well as raising funds.

Choice of aid collection organisation

The first step towards collecting humanitarian aid is choosing a reliable and reputable organisation. It consists in reviewing the list of organizations supporting soldiers and providing humanitarian aid to those in need. It is required to have transparent financial reports and detailed information on how the aid collected is used.

Fundraising

To successfully collect humanitarian aid, it is necessary to develop a plan that involves as many people as possible. The way to do this is by setting up a donation website or social media page to provide information about your charity ideas and organising a fundraising campaign. Additionally, you can post regular updates with photos and videos about the delivery and distribution of aid to the soldiers. Perhaps you can also organise charity drives where people can make a donation and meet representatives from the organisation.

In addition to your own initiative, you can also help soldiers by asking local businesses and organizations for assistance. Distribute leaflets and brochures with information about your donation campaign so you can expand your network of volunteers.

Material support

In addition to financial resources, soldiers need material support. You can organize the collection of food, warm clothes, sleeping bags, first aid kits, personal hygiene products, medicines, etc. yourself or through various foundations. It is important to remember that the conditions the soldiers are in are very difficult and any help would be helpful.

Pavel Andreev Foundation in war relief

At the Pavel Andreev Foundation, we get behind any project to provide aid to those injured in war or to soldiers fighting on the front line. Pavel Andreev, as the founder of the PavelAndreev.ORG platform, has been creating projects to benefit those in need for more than 10 years.
