Hello Friends and Donors of Ellie! As of today 30.01.2025 Ellie's condition remains the same. The pain in her left leg from the damaged nerve is severe and treatment is ongoing. After changing the catheter and flushes which are done regularly there is no change, it continues to create infections and antibiotics have to be changed. These in turn irritate the lining of the stomach already and the focus is on treating the pain. Ellie is now trying to sit up but there is a problem there too. From the surgeries and from standing on her stomach open for so long there is compromised connective and muscle tissue. After examination by a surgeon, a post-operative brace has been prescribed which will help the tissues recover over the next few months. We have been in constant contact with the urologists at Pirogov who performed the serious bladder surgery and they now want Ellie to be readmitted to their department for a scan and tests to see if the bladder will work properly and independently. A date has been set and on 05.02.2025 Ellie will be transported by ambulance to Pirogov hospital. Thank you for your support.
