What does it take to turn someone's willingness to help into real support? Pavel Andreev discussed campaign verification, donor trust, and active fundraising efforts on NOVA NEWS's “Social Network” programme.
During the interview, he also explained how the international expansion of PavelAndreev.ORG is changing his perspective on charitable giving. Different countries require different approaches, but one thing remains the same: the better the organizations behind fundraising campaigns do their work, the more people are willing to help.
The expansion of PavelAndreev.ORG beyond Bulgaria shows that fundraising campaigns cannot be organized in exactly the same way everywhere.
“Campaigns in each country are organized according to that country's specific characteristics.”
For Pavel, international experience has increasingly highlighted the connection between the work of fundraising platforms and people's willingness to get involved.
“The better we, as organizers, platforms, and organizations, do our job, the more people gather around us and want to help.”
Medical fundraising campaigns are among the most common types of campaigns in Bulgaria.
Pavel emphasizes that medical campaigns on PavelAndreev.ORG undergo verification and must be supported by the necessary medical documentation.
Campaign organizers are also verified, and funds raised for treatment are transferred directly to medical institutions.
This is one of the foundations of the trust that people place in the platform when choosing to donate.
The work does not end with verification and publication.
PavelAndreev.ORG does not simply provide a page where people can publish their stories and search for support on their own.
“We don't simply give them software, a platform, and tell them: ‘You're on your own, go and raise the funds yourselves.’”
The team actively works to help campaigns reach more people through social media, digital tools, and various communication channels.
Over the past five to six years, Pavel has observed growth both in the number of donors and in the average donation amount.
The results are particularly evident in urgent campaigns, where time is critical.
“We have reached a point where, when funds need to be raised very quickly, we really can raise them very quickly.”
This is also one of the main messages of the interview: people want to help. The platform's responsibility is to create a secure connection between those willing to give and those who need support.
