On 29.07.21. During an argument with another man over money, they quarreled and threw a piece of paving stone at him, breaking his shin in two. The greater tibial bone was broken into three pieces and the lesser into two with an open external wound.

After a team from the CSMC came and admitted him to ascertain the case and render assistance, a leg reassembly followed in Pleven, with an internal implant . The operation took nearly 4 and a half hours. But apparently something went wrong and an infection set in which subsequently gave a number of complications and the leg could not heal.

After about 1 month the wound (the operation) starts to open and purulent discharge starts to flow. With a series of visits to the hospital in Pleven, it turns out that he needs to be treated in the Purulent-Septic Surgery in Pirogov Sofia.

An emergency operation of about 2 and a half hours also followed by deep cleaning the leg down to the implant itself and leaving a 30 cm long open wound with sterile dressings every day.

After 2 month he was again admitted for another surgery. And so on 27.11.21 we find out that he is now with osteomyelitis. He went to Sofia repeatedly for check-ups and cleaning of his leg.

After many walks on the torment on 25.05.22 it was decided in Stara Zagora to do an operation, removing the internal implant and inserting the first external fixator and had to split the whole calf from the back to collect the front operation which was open 8 months.

A vacuum pump was put in to suck the dirt out of the surgery. It was 2 months with this pump. This was followed by a new fixator replacement. Having to pay for all this fixator vacuum pump and patches which are not cheap.

But unfortunately unsuccessful are all these things. Did treatments on a baro chamber from which there was little improvement. But unfortunately again the leg started swelling and oozing pus.

There followed a lot of walking around, splashing out on hospitals an awful lot of money. Did a charity collection,but unfortunately to no avail. Another operation followed as the second external fixator was removed and the whole leg had to be immobilised for 47 days with a cast.

Then another operation and the fixator put back on. And then 4 more times opening and cleaning in the operating room. Unfortunately unsuccessful.

In the last operation at the St. Sophia Hospital in Sofia, a donor bone was placed and two wedges were taken from the pelvis and placed in the leg to fuse the bone.

But unfortunately unsuccessful results it started to swell and leak again. The leg has buckled and the bone that was adjudicated has dislocated.

The diagnosis that is given is Life threatening soft tissue and bone infection.

Ivan's surgery will be performed by Professor Khalil Bukh at American Hospital in the city of Bhutan. Istanbul Turkey. The surgery will consist of cleaning out the infected bone, and grafting a new donor bone and inserting an Ilizarov external fixator to straighten and lengthen the leg

And the moment came when we were told that nothing more could be done here and he had to be treated abroad.
