Charity campaign "Together for Kalina"

Hello, Dear Donors!

My name is Kalina, 45 years old from Stara Zagora. I have a bachelor's degree in "Business Management", but for 12 years I have devoted myself entirely to caring for my son, who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. It was 6 years ago that I first felt this intolerable pain. All the time until now I have been unsuccessfully treated for a disc herniation. More recently I was diagnosed with a rare condition - Perineural Tarlov Cysts. In our country this disease has no ICD (International Classification of Diseases) code. There is no registry in the Ministry of Health and the NHIF of patients with Tarlov's cysts in Bulgaria, as if we did not exist. For this reason, there is no way to be treated in our country. The only treatment is surgery.

Maybe some of you are wondering what this disease actually consists of?

The pain is all over the waist, feet, groin, which comes when you decide - strong and unbearable. Medicines do not help. So far, after each injection, we have been treating a new pain. And so the painful years pass. At one point I started having difficulty moving my legs, I didn't know what to do, but I knew that even if I went to a doctor, he would prescribe injections and painkillers again without me feeling their effect.

What was the possibility before me?

At AIMIS Hospital in Limassol, Cyprus they have experience treating Perineural Tarlov Cysts. The offer from them is worth 49,900 euros, an unaffordable amount for my family. I need your support to raise the funds for the surgery so that I can be a full mother again and be able to care for my son, and he needs me all the time.
