Понякога страхът е толкова задушаваш, че имаш чувството, че следващата глътка въздух няма да можеш да я поемеш. Това е основното чувство да си родител на дете с онкологично заболявяне. Много ситуации, прогнози и статистики отписваха Радост още от началото на лечението… Оказва се, че те са просто малки камъчета по пътя. Детето ми е тук в Американската болница в Истанбул и не защото е “модерно” да се лекуваш в чужбина, а защото в родната ни страна Пет месеца търсехме диагнозата. Сарком на Юинг е тежък рак, а метастазният такъв е… ада, такъв стана той след Пет месечното препускане по български болници без диагноза! Живият ад. Благодарение на откриването на диагнозата и лечението си в чужбина, Радост все още е жива, със здрави органи и стабилно физическо състояние, в кондиция да ѝ бъде прилагано лечение. Да, скъпо е. Дори изпитвам неудобство да напиша похарчената сума за последния месец, защото при постоянна хоспитализация парите просто се изпаряват, а аз изпитвам вина като родител… Изпитвам болка за детето си, за хората, които не спират да ни подкрепят, а ние пак заставаме пред тях и молим за пари… Но не мога да спра, не мога да се откажа от детето си, не мога да приема, че живота на дъщеря ми има цена… Бях прочела един коментар, че просим и по-добрият избор е да се върнем в България… Предпочитам да прося и аз и цялото ми семейство, защото живота на детето ми е над всяко его, самоуважение, самочувствие и срам. Ние сме просто едни обикновенни родители, които до болка обичат детето си и искат то да живее. Днешното плащане е за доплащане на престоя в болницата. Докога ще сме тук не знам… Но се надявам да имаме сила, дух и здраве, за да излезем оттук в пълен състав Sometimes the fear is so suffocating that you feel like you won't be able to take the next breath. That's the basic feeling of being a parent of a child with cancer. Many situations, prognoses and statistics wrote Joy off from the beginning of treatment... Turns out they were just small pebbles along the way. My child is here at the American Hospital in Istanbul, and not because it is "fashionable" to be treated abroad, but because we searched for the diagnosis for five months in our home country. Ewing's sarcoma is a severe cancer, and metastatic one is... hell, that's what it became after Five months of running around Bulgarian hospitals without a diagnosis! The living hell. Thanks to discovering her diagnosis and receiving treatment abroad, Joy is still alive, with healthy organs and a stable physical condition, in condition to receive treatment. Yes, it's expensive. I even feel embarrassed to write down the amount spent in the last month, because with constant hospitalization the money just evaporates, and I feel guilty as a parent... I feel pain for my child, for the people who keep supporting us, and we still stand in front of them and ask for money... But I can't stop, I can't give up on my child, I can't accept that my daughter's life has a price... I had read a comment that we are begging and the better choice is to go back to Bulgaria... I prefer to beg and so does my whole family because my child's life is above any ego, self-esteem, self-worth and shame. We are just ordinary parents who love our child to the core and want him to live. Today's payment is to pay for the hospital stay. How long we'll be here I don't know... But I hope we have the strength, spirit and health to get out of here in one piece
