През последните две седмици, след 4тия курс следоперативна химиотерапия, Габи поддържаше добро общо здравословно състояние като редовно ходеше на изследвания в детското онкологично отделение.
На 03.06.23г., около полунощ, Габи вдигна 39 градуса температура и беше приета в болницата с висок показател за инфекция. За щастие, лекуващите лекари вече са запознати с това как протичат инфекциите при Габи и успяват бързо да ги овладеят.
На 07.06.23г. Габи бе изписана като различното този път беше поставения катетър на ръката й през който да й се поставя Граноцит 34. Това е лекарство, което помага на тяло да произвежда повече от кръвните клетки, които се борят с инфекциите. Тъй като химиотерапията засяга костния мозък и в частност производството на неутрофилите, това лекарство помага да се намали времето, в което нивата на белите кръвни клетки са ниски.
Ниските кръвни показатели са причината за забавянето на химиотерапиите от първоначалния график, което пък от своя страна налага удължаване на престоя на Габи в Дортмунд.
Надяваме се скоро Габи да си възвърне силите, защото следващата седмица по график трябва да стартира 5-тия курс следоперативна химиотерапия.

During the last two weeks, after the 4th course of postoperative chemotherapy, Gabby maintained good general health by going regularly to the pediatric oncology unit for checkups.
On 03.06.23, around midnight, Gabby developed a fever of 39 degrees and was admitted to the hospital with a high index of infection. Fortunately, the attending physicians were already familiar with how infections run in Gabby and were able to control them quickly.
On 07.06.23 Gabby was discharged and what was different this time was the catheter placed in her arm through which Granocyte 34 would be inserted. This is a drug that helps the body produce more of the blood cells that fight infections. Because chemotherapy affects the bone marrow and in particular the production of neutrophils, this drug helps to reduce the time that white blood cell levels are low.
The low blood counts are the reason for the delay in chemotherapy treatments from the original schedule, which in turn necessitated an extension of Gabby's stay in Dortmund.
Hopefully Gabby will regain her strength soon because next week she is scheduled to start her 5th course of post-operative chemotherapy.
