Здравейте, аз съм Юлия Георгиева и съм майка на Александър Георгиев, който сега е на шестнайсет години. През 2014-та, когато Сашко беше само на осем годинки, претърпя инцидент с колелото си, вследствие на което прекара четири месеца в кома.
Първите два месеца беше в УМБАЛ Канев в гр. Русе, а остатъка от времето прекара в Пирогов.
В УМБАЛ Канев на Сашко бяха направени две мозъчни операции, поставиха му и трахеостома (сонда в трахеята, която буквално дишаше вместо него). Лекарите не даваха надежди, че някога ще излезе от кома, но до последно не спрях да вярвам, че ще оживее.
След това се наложи да бъде транспортиран в Пирогов. Там претърпя още две мозъчни операции.
Когато излезе от кома, беше изцяло парализиран. Наложи се да заминем за клиника Helios Clinic в Бранденбург, Германия, където прекарахме 365 дни, с помощта на Фонда за лечение на деца в чужбина. Там на Сашко поставиха гастростома (сонда в корема, чрез която да се храни). Впоследствие бяха извършени множество процедури по рехабилитация. Успяхме да достигнем положение, в което Сашко започна да се движи с помощта на проходилка.
Три пъти ходихме двамата, Сашко и аз, с колата ни до Русия и Сърбия за последващи операции (фибротомия), които досега успяваха да поддържат нивото, до което се беше възстановил. За жалост, след последната хирургична интервенция се оказа, че вече не може да му се помага по този начин.
Възстановителният процес продължава и до днес, но ако не се извърши една последна гръбначна операция, състоянието на Сашко ще започне да се влошава прогресивно, като прогнозите са мрачни: пълен регрес на всичко, което постигна до момента с неимоверни усилия. Операцията се нарича селективна дорзална ризотомия, която не се прави в България. Европейските клиники, с които сме се свързали към момента, категорично отказаха. НЗОК, за жалост, също ни отказа след 2 години борба с тях. Заявлението ми към тях датира от май, 2021, а причината за отказа е, че не работят с клиники извън Европейския съюз.
Единственият шанс на Сашко е в ръцете на лекарския екип на д-р Тей Парк от Детската болница в Сейнт Луис, САЩ, които се съгласиха да извършат операцията. Дадоха ни дата за началото на юли.
Но предвид всичките препятствия и болка, през които преминахме, за жалост, изчерпах възможностите си да ползвам помощ от роднини и приятели, които бяха до мен през целия ни път, а сумата за операцията е непосилна за семейството ми – спешно са необходими 93 000 лева.

Коства ми много време да преодолея себе си и да се обърна към Вас за помощ, защото знам, че държавата ни трябва да се погрижи за децата си, но също знам, че ние сме сърцето на тази наша България и заедно помагаме на чудесата да се случват. Hi, I am Julia Georgieva and I am the mother of Alexander Georgiev, who is now sixteen years old. In 2014, when Sashko was only eight years old, he had an accident with his bicycle and spent four months in a coma.
For the first two months he was in the Canev Hospital in the town of Saska. The rest of the time he spent in Pirogov.
At the University Hospital Kanev Sashko underwent two brain surgeries and had a tracheostomy (a probe in his trachea that literally breathed for him). The doctors did not give hope that he would ever come out of the coma, but until the last moment I did not stop believing that he would come back to life.
Then he had to be transported to Pirogov. There he underwent two more brain operations.
When he came out of the coma, he was completely paralyzed. We had to go to the Helios Clinic in Brandenburg, Germany, where we spent 365 days, with the help of the Fund for the Treatment of Children Abroad. There, Sashko was fitted with a gastrostomy (a tube in the abdomen through which to feed). Subsequently, numerous rehabilitation procedures were performed. We managed to reach a position where Sashko started to move with the help of a walker.
Three times we went, both Sashko and I, in our car to Russia and Serbia for follow-up surgeries (fibrotomy), which so far have managed to maintain the level to which he had recovered. Unfortunately, after the last surgery it turned out that he could no longer be helped in this way.
The recovery process continues to this day, but unless one final spinal surgery is performed , Sashko's condition will begin to deteriorate progressively, and the prognosis is grim: a complete regression of all that he has achieved so far with tremendous effort. The operation is called selective dorsal rhizotomy, which is not done in Bulgaria. The European clinics we have contacted so far have flatly refused. The NHIF, unfortunately, also refused us after 2 years of fighting with them. My application to them is dated May, 2021 and the reason for the refusal is that they do not work with clinics outside the European Union.
Sashko's only chance is in the hands of Dr. Tay Park's medical team at St. Louis Children's Hospital, USA, who agreed to perform the surgery. They gave us a date for early July.
But given all the obstacles and pain we went through, I unfortunately ran out of options to get help from relatives and friends who were by my side all the way, and the amount of money for the surgery is prohibitive for my family - 93,000 leva is urgently needed.

It took me a long time to overcome myself and to turn to you for help, because I know that our country has to take care of its children, but I also know that we are the heart of this Bulgaria of ours and together we help make miracles happen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who reads this, shares it and gives Sashko a piece of hope!
