Hello, dear donors!

Unfortunately I have to write these lines. My name is Raya and I am from Sofia. I am married and I have two beautiful children - Melanie, 15, and Eric, 28.

At the end of June we were at the seaside and strange bruises appeared on my legs. Immediately I had tests at the Ministry of Interior Hospital and they were convinced of leukemia and sent me to the Hematology Department in the town. I was taken to Hematology in Sofia. They admitted me, did a PKC, bone marrow examination and confirmed the diagnosis.

We were devastated! For a moment our lives were turned upside down.

After many tears, I decided not to give up and fight the biggest battle with this insidious disease. I started treatment, initially I had anemia, then began a round the clock infusion of antibiotics and salts. I then underwent the first stage of chemotherapy out of seven. Unfortunately in hospital I developed bronchopneumonia. All sorts of antibiotics were infused into me, as well as plasma and blood. They did blood tests on my relatives(my children and my brother). Luckily my brother has a full 10/10 compatibility. Among as my vitals rise and I go into remission the only way I can heal and move on with my life is through a bone marrow transplant. I have researched treatment options in Turkey and have several proforma invoices that range from 70,000 euros to 180,000 euros. But since I have a donor I have received an offer from Gazi Osman Pasha Hospital.

I ask you from the bottom of my heart to help me and have hope that I will be able to raise my child. She is a complete winner. She needs me like every child. I want to heal and be around my loved ones. To be able to work, play sports and enjoy life!
