Hello dear people, This is my mother - Theodora 59 years old from . Varna. In the middle of May 2024 my mother was admitted to hospital as an emergency because of shortness of breath. After a series of examinations and an effusion in the lung, we were informed that the diagnosis was Cancer - adenocarcinoma of the lung stage IV.

Immediately a PET scan was ordered at St. Marina, Varna for 30.05.24, but unluckily it was cancelled before we could do the examination. We were redirected to the town of. Burgas for the same examination. The earliest date was for 19.06, but on the same day Mom was admitted again on an emergency basis because of shortness of breath.

1200 ml of water were found in the right lung.

Our hopes were that the water would decrease to pass the scanner, and in the meantime we waited for the genetic tests from the biopsy, but on 30.06 the hospital in Burgas told us that their equipment was not enough to improve her condition.

Our only option, which we had already explored, remained treatment in Turkey and so on 1.07 we sent her there because her condition was getting worse every day.

At the moment she is in the intensive care unit of Anadolu Hospital Johns Hopkins Turkey. We know that she is better and has started to eat significantly more as she was refusing food before. This gives us even more hope! As of now, we have transferred 5,000 euros, but more tests are needed, as well as a PET scan to assign her an exact therapy and a final amount for her treatment.
