My name is Olena Arkhypenko, I am the mother of 17-year-old Sofia Spector from Vinnytsia, Ukraine. Our family is in an extremely difficult situation due to the war in Ukraine and my daughter's serious illness. I am writing to you with a sincere request for financial support so that we can continue her life-saving treatment.

At the end of April this year, Sofia injured her knee. In early May, she began to complain of pain. An X-ray taken in Ukraine was mistakenly interpreted as a fracture of the patella, and she was prescribed immobilization. Unfortunately, this diagnosis was wrong.

At the end of June, her pain worsened and an MRI scan revealed a suspicious mass. On July 10, a biopsy was performed, and on July 29, the results confirmed the diagnosis of osteosarcoma. Due to the incorrect initial diagnosis, the tumor progressed rapidly.

After the biopsy, Sofia's condition deteriorated sharply: she stopped walking and could no longer lean on her leg. On August 3, we traveled to Israel for further examinations at the Assuta Clinic on an official medical invitation. There, a PET-CT scan and a second biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of aggressive osteosarcoma of the left femur (stage II) with metastasis to the inguinal lymph node.

We immediately consulted with Professor Dror Levin, a leading pediatric oncologist, who emphasized the urgent need to start treatment. On August 26, Sofia was hospitalized at the Ichilov Hospital, where she started the first course of chemotherapy.

According to Prof. Levin's treatment protocol, the therapy will last about a year and will include:

- 10 weeks of intensive chemotherapy
- surgery to remove the tumor and replace the affected part of the femur (if the patella is not affected)
- 4 more courses of chemotherapy,
- preventive treatment with Mepakt to reduce the risk of lung metastases.

I am a single mom, and here, in a foreign country, far from home, it is incredibly difficult for me to cope with such high treatment costs alone. But it is here, in Israel, that Sofia has a real chance for recovery and life. Every day counts, and I am doing my best to fight for my daughter's health, but the financial burden is far beyond my means.

The average cost of treatment is estimated at around €700,000:

- Surgery - 100 000 €,
- 6 courses of chemotherapy (assuming no complications) - €300,000,
- a biological drug to prevent lung metastases - €7,000 per injection. In total, 48 injections are needed - €336,000.

Therefore, with great hope and a mother's plea, I am asking for your help. Your support will give Sofia a chance to complete her treatment, defeat the disease and return to the life that both the war and the disease tried to take away from her.

I am ready to provide all medical documents, treatment protocols and bills upon request.
